A Bachelor degree comprising at least 180 ECTS credits and obtained with at least Second Class (Honours) Upper Division or Category IIA in the field of Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Economics, or any other Social Science subject which the Board of Studies deems to be appropriate.

Applicants are required to demonstrate that their standard of English is satisfactory. Please refer to the English requirements available here

All applicants shall be further required to submit with their application a letter written in English giving their motivation for applying for the Course.

Applications will be accepted up to 15 July 2024.

The maximum number of students that can be admitted into the course is 7 students.

The MSc in Marketing is a Double Degree programme coordinated by the University of Malta, located in Malta, and Università Luiss Guido Carli located in Rome, Italy. Once you complete the programme, you will obtain two degrees certificates:

  • Master of Science (MSc) in Marketing from the University of Malta
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Marketing from Luiss
  • The master's programme provides a learning experience designed to engage you in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment with international faculty and marketing experts from various commercial backgrounds embracing an international perspective. The programme is based on academic research and industry best practices. Right from the outset of the degree programme, the focus is directed at critical thinking, professional development and scholarly research, since an analytical mind and problem-solving abilities are important professional qualities sought after by enterprise and industry.

    The programme is held in two countries: Malta and Italy. The first year is held at the University of Malta, at the Msida campus in Malta. The second year is held at the Università Luiss Guido Carli at the campus in Rome, Italy.

    The University of Malta is located in the Maltese Islands, a beautiful archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea which boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Malta has one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe and a vibrant labour market with a high demand for graduates in various sectors. The University of Malta is the leading higher education institution in Malta with 400 years of history and an academic framework developed on the principles of the European Higher Education Area and the Bologna Process.

    Luiss University is located in the heart of Rome, in the Parioli and Trieste neighbourhoods.     This programme of study is governed by the Master of Science in Marketing - M.Sc. - Degree Course Regulations, 2022 under the auspices of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy.

    By the end of the course, you will be able to:

    • Conceptualise marketing offerings involving product/service features, communications, distribution, service levels and processes in a variety of market conditions.
    • Devise service offers that appeal to targeted customers using customer insights and effectively deploy resources through acute rationality embedded in decision making whilst retaining a balance between stiff corporate and business objectives and society's needs.
    • Debate aspects of corporate and marketing strategy to a range of audiences that prevail in ordinary corporate contexts.
    • Use knowledge, facts, and data to effectively solve problems analyse issues or make decisions within a reasonable time frame.
    • Apply objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgement.

      • Formulate marketing plans which reflect the latest thinking and ideas in the relevant discipline, based on empirical research in new areas like performance metrics, digital analytics, decision modelling, service design and social marketing.
      • Visualise corporate strategies that translate in aligned human resource planning and deployment with relevance to specific marketing operations.
      • Devise service offers that appeal to targeted customers using customer insights and effectively deploy resources through acute rationality embedded in decision making whilst retaining a balance between stiff corporate and business objectives and society's needs.

      • Develop numerical and qualitative analysis skills.

    On graduating from the programme, you will be well prepared for a career in marketing and your degree will be highly valued in the local and international labour markets. Graduates of the programme typically move on to careers as a marketing manager, digital marketing manager, product manager, brand manager, marketing analyst, account manager, communication specialist, customer relations manager, or marketing strategy consultant.
